Looking after our skin is important – we need to keep this essential organ healthy – but we also want it to look good – at any age.
We are bombarded with potions and lotions, costing anything from a few pounds for a pot of old-fashioned ‘cold cream’, to £100+ for cutting-edge, scientifically researched, ‘miracle’ products which we are expected to view as an ‘investment’. Well, I think I have found the happy medium – simple products at affordable prices, with tried and tested (not on animals) active ingredients, from a UK company.
For the last 6 months, I have substituted my usual more expensive skin care brands with FaceTheory products. With 50+ skin, I wanted to use products containing key ingredients including Retinol, Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and natural oils. It took a little while for my skin to adjust – with occasional crops of small spots appearing overnight, but now I have ‘happy’ skin again.
FaceTheory has an innovative and comprehensive range, all presented it in stylish glass jars or aluminium tubes, either lightly scented (eg bergamot, mandarin) or unscented. My favourite product so far is the Amil C Whip moisturiser (£16.99) – light and absorbable, it makes my skin sigh as I apply it and it smells like lemon meringue pie!
